If good is up and bad is down, I started May 'way up.
As the month went on, I suffered real and potential financial losses, had a negative medical diagnosis that offset, and to a degree, obscured some accompanying positive progress, and, also to a degree, lost control of my weight.
Damn.
On the other hand, I got to play more gigs than I have in any month in recent memory, and established a new musical relationship and, just as or more importantly, a new friendship.
I ate some remarkable food, and had some memorable good times.
I don't know what that says about balance, but the fact that I can write about all this, the good and the bad, and keep a neutral emotional state, that is pretty positive in itself.
At least, I'd like to think so.
