Net Loss/Gain:                     - 1.3 lbs.
Diet Comment
I'm on a roll. I'm now at my low weight since the first actual weigh-in of 2020 (March 5, 201 pounds). I Not only that, I proved that I can eat a pint of Rebel ice cream and still lose weight! Oh, boy, oh boy!

Breakfast
7:15pm: 
Arugula, cabbage, chard, kale, spinach, roasted turkey breast, shaved parmesan cheese, walnuts and balsamic vinaigrette.
Lunch
Skipped.

Dinner
1:20am: 
Eggs scrambled with onions, peppers, celery, on cauliflower rice with salsa.
Liquid Intake
   Espressos: 2;   Coffee: 0 oz.;  Water: 60+ oz.;

Diet Comment
Goodness me! I ended up where I wanted to be, even after Friday's setback. A victory for persistence. Also a lesson: I think I may up my carbs just to include more of the sprouted whole-grain bread I like, maybe every other day.

Breakfast
6:30pm: Purple-green protein smoothie with almonds, kefir, large organic egg, chia gel, kale, spinach, frozen organic berries, whey powder (24g protein), coconut oil, hemp seeds, hemp protein (7g protein), raw organic cacao powder, moringa leaf powder, fo ti (mushroom powder), cinnamon, turmeric and stevia-inulin blend.

Lunch
10:15pm: Carrots with homemade mayonnaise and a Quest bar.

Dinner
12:45am: A pint of Rebel Peanut Butter Fudge ice cream.

Diet Comment
I had hoped to lose more before the weekend, but today's up-tick put the kibosh on that. I think my weight is up because of an excess of calories and lack of movement, possibly an excess of salt.

My weight loss continues, thank goodness. I am still uncomfortable with my current weight, and hope to lose more before the weekend.

Vegetarian sloppy joe with Quorn Grounds, Wegman's Grandpa's Sauce, spinach and kale, on riced cauliflower with shaved parmesan cheese.
Lunch
9:15pm: 1 pint of Rebel Triple-chocolate ice cream - recommended by a friend, as a low-carb, keto friendly, yet delicious ice cream. I found it very, very good. And a Quest bar.

Dinner
12:30am: Cottage cheese and pork rinds.

Liquid Intake
   Espressos: 0;   Coffee: 0 oz.;  Water: 76+ oz.;

I have been very uncomfortable since the weekend, when my A/C went out on the hottest, and longest days of the year.

But, I survived. Today, the apartment management sent a maintenance guy over to check. He agrees that it is not blowing cold enough air to change the temperature in my apartment (which has been over 80⁰ since Friday night, thanks to the combination of living on the third (top) floor and very hot weather).

He says I'll get a replacement unit, but he isn't sure when.

Two minutes after he left, I had a service call from Verizon, to upgrade my line and hardware and get super-fast internet, which I have never had since I moved here nine-and-a-half years ago.

It turns out my wiring's messed up, and their wiring contractor is going to have to pay me a visit. When? Nobody knows.

So it goes.

I'm grateful for the internet I have being reliable, if not really fast.

That's a nice reversal of a trend I wasn't comfortable with.

Cheese omelet with kale, spinach, onions and peppers, on riced cauliflower with bacon and salsa. Everything is organic, except for the eggs, which were from free-range chickens.

Daily Comment
I got some bad news - my friend Frank had a stroke.

It doesn't seem to be too bad - he had double vision and a balance problem, and both symptoms have improved in a very short time - in fact, he was only in the hospital for two nights, and is home now.

I tend to over-react with concern when people I love get sick.

I also, over the weekend, got a very serious note from one of my best friends in Syracuse, asking me not to move away.

I was moved (no pun intended). And now, I think I'll stay, at least until until 2021.

I'm grateful for my good friends, and for the health that allows me to enjoy the love and friendship I'm surrounded by.

Previous Weight (6/19/20):         204.0 lbs.
Net Loss/Gain:                     + 3.0 lbs.
Diet Comment
This is terrible, and I owe it to Father's Day, where, spending the day alone, I ate meals from Popeye's and CoreLife, and bought a large amount of desserts at Wegman's. As ye sow, so shall ye reap.

#2447: Friday, June 19, '20: You can't take your health for granted

I got some bad news - my friend Frank had a stroke.

It doesn't seem to be too bad - he had double vision and a balance problem, and both symptoms have improved.

I tend to over-react with concern when people I love get sick. And I never take my health (or anyone else's, for that matter) for granted.

I'm grateful for my good health, and grateful that my good friend Frank is on the mend, and getting healthy quickly after his event.


Food and Diet 
Today's Weight:                    204.0 lbs.
Previous Weight (6/18/20):         202.1 lbs.
Net Loss/Gain:                     + 1.9 lbs.
Diet Comment
The only explanation I can think of for this gain (and yesterday's, for that matter), is that I had some off-plan food - the Popeye's chicken sandwich, a pot cookie, and I also ate a lot of salty food (looking at YOU, new addition to my household cheese crisps (crunchy cheese), and a lot in terms of both weight and volume. It would probably be better if I documented/showed portion sizes, but in ten years, I never have.
