And that's when nothing special is going on, like today. I marvel at my 'luck' (if that is what it is) to be alive, relatively healthy, able to access some joy on a regular basis, with friends and family to share my joy.
I have a job that, if nothing else, isn't onerous - and pays reasonably well. I got it when I was 60 years old, no small feat right there. This enables me to take care of all my needs plus be of some help to others, and I'm still left with some for wants (very modest now, as I'm in whatever the opposite of accumulation mode is) - the definition of wealth, as far as I am concerned.
Of course, I'm optimistic. And so very, very grateful.

Not much of an impact from fasting. No surprise, although I expected better. I wonder how this post-gluttony weight spike, which I haven't recovered from yet, is going to affect the fasting blood work I did this morning? At best, no effect. At worst, my doctor will be reading me the riot act next week. But it is a temporary situation. As is everything. Due to the blood test, I didn't break my fast until lunch time.
