Today, after what I regard as a rather serious misunderstanding in a group message thread (with the band), and one too many political rant, selfie and animal picture, I deactivated my Facebook account.
I can't believe how bad being on Facebook had begun to make me feel. I had to cope with feelings of anger, sadness and shame. And for what?
Today, I couldn't come up with the positives. I will miss only seeing the pictures of my friends.
Edit: Eighteen hours after pulling the plug, there is a great sense of relief.
I think Facebook may be contributing to the decline in people's interpersonal communication skills. And I have to admit, I was way behind the curve in coming to this realization, with, perhaps, a bit of denial about it.
Also, I am on my phone (data-wise) much less frequently during the day. And I don't feel I'm missing out on anything.
Final word on the subject, is that I am a little embarrassed about being an advocate for Facebook right up until the end.
Mmmmmm, crow. Yummy.

I see now that I have to guard against midnight snacking, a result of me staying up later than I probably should.
