March 16 HCHC Day

Daily Comment

I've never really liked hanging out at bars. But because that is pretty limiting, socially, I do. I usually don't drink, or drink club soda. I rarely strike up conversations, at least not the kind that expand my social circle, because I have a long-held belief (proven wrong, but still held) that the kind of person I want to socialize with doesn't hang out in bars.

In fact, because that is where a lot of music is made and played, I spend a lot of time in bars. They are my social milieu. But I don't actually socialize there. The people I see in bars, I pretty much only see in bars. We may exchange news, or just pleasantries and jokes, but I don't know much about all the people I meet in bars. I know what bands they play in, a little about what kind of music they like. I don't know what most of them do for a living, and I don't know, for the most part, what their family situation is. I don't know their stories.

They are just the people I meet in bars. My social life outside of bars these days is mostly playing music in people's houses, either with i am Fool, which is a once-a-week thing, at best, or with a few other people who chose not to meet in bars. 

The rest happens when I visit old friends and Andy in New York City, or Alex in LA, or Joan in Sharon. The exception is with my friend Al, but lately, he has gotten very involved with my band, so the line blurs. But he is my single, solitary movie-going buddy, and he is the only friend who I've spent any time with on any non-musical endeavor.

Whatever. I rarely feel lonely (and most of the time, when I do, I'm not actually alone).

 Food and Diet Section

First-half year 2013 daily weight
Today's Weight:         209.6 lbs
Yesterday's Weight:     209.8 lbs
Day Net Loss/Gain:      - 0.2 lbs

Diet Comment
Although I've been bad, and my weight shows it (even with today's "loss" which might as well be the same as yesterday), I'm going to continue the plan as though I weren't. This High-Carb, High Calorie day went as per plan, although I didn't drink as much water as usual.


Food Log 
Breakfast
Two large bowls of oatmeal-based muesli, one with blueberries, kefir, almond milk and stevia-insulin blend; one plain with almond milk and stevia-insulin blend.

Lunch
Brown rice pasta with peas and marinara with sausage and onions.

Dinner
Skipped.

Snack
Reese's peanut butter cups, dark-chocolate-covered almonds, Little Debbie's Nutty Bars.

Liquid Intake   
   Coffee:  30 oz.   Water:  48+ oz. and a shot of Jameson's
