Daily Comment

Another example of the inadequacy of electronic media for human communication:

The band has been struggling to find out the details of our next gig (the appearance we won in a popularity contest getting the most people who'd never heard the bands they were voting for - but I digress). The only connection we have with the show's production is through the leader of the top-billed band.

Who hasn't been responding. He acknowledged us as the winner (and used the wrong concert date). A week later, he acknowledged he used the wrong date. 

Despite many emails and Facebook messages sent inquiring about load-in, sound-check, and performance times, sales tables, etc., we heard nothing. It was rude.

I began to suspect that there was something going on. I began to think he didn't like the band. Because no communication is poor communication.

Since I know this, I went to his band's gig tonight, for the express purpose of confronting him (although, not in a confrontational manner. I promised the other band members I would use all my "well-learned politesse" and not make things worse. I got the club owner to introduce us.

What a nice guy! He was warm, he seemed genuinely glad to meet me. He gave me all the information that had been requested, introduced me to some of the members of the band. There was not a hint of the doucherie I had been expecting.

I don't know, and don't care to speculate on why he was so rude in electronic communications. I may never know, and it won't lose a moment's sleep over it.

Ugh. Last night's late-night binge, including a cereal fail, did some damage, eh? Today, not much better.

Cocoa-kale-hemp-chia seed-protein shake: Almond milk, kale, cocoa, hemp seeds, a large egg, vanilla whey powder (24g protein),  cinnamon, vanilla and stevia-inulin blend.

Dinner
Sauteed vegetables: Sweet potatoes, pepper, zucchini, cauliflower and eggplant. Not shown: Pepperoni.

Snack
Chili with corn and sweet potato chips and more pepperoni.

Liquid Intake   
   Coffee:  20 oz.   Water:  92+ oz.  and a shot of Jameson's Irish Whiskey
