Today was the busiest day since I got back to Syracuse about nine weeks ago.
First, there was a lot of work to be done in my investment portfolio, as it was a rare very active trading day, and I also had to sum up June (I track my dividends monthly and quarterly), and the end of the second quarter. Since that quarter included the pandemic recession, it was an unusual amount of work.
Then I got a call from Frank to meet him and Debbie, and share a meal at CoreLife, which is now open, with covid-19 seating indoors and the always-nice outdoor patio.
Before I left for dinner, I got a call from John, I am Fool's drummer, asking me to play bass on a singer-songwriter-guitarist recording project. Of course, I said yes. First rehearsal tomorrow.
Dinner (breakfast for me, and earlier than usual, too) was great. Not only do I always love the food at CoreLife, but Frank was in fine form. This was the first time I'd seen him since his stroke, and I couldn't tell that he'd had one! He'd spent the day fixing Debbie's car. He had a new song on CD he gave me - the first post-stroke song.
It was great to see him doing so well.
I had to stop off at Wegman's on the way home to get the right flavor Quest bars - I had bought the wrong kind at yesterday's shopping, due to a subtle difference in the color of the box - I'd just reached in and pulled one out without checking.
Haste makes waste.
When I got home, I had all the stuff I usually do before getting out of bed still ahead of me: My daily sudoku, my Spanish courses (I'm doing two), end-of-the-trading-day portfolio maintenance, birthday wishes on Facebook, email, and eating, of course.
Then I watched another episode of Dark, which has become horrible in the new 3rd season. It's torture to watch, but I have to see how it turns out.
I'm grateful for the good times with good friends, and for days like today, when everything seems to work.
