My band isn't the Beatles. We're not even the Bonzo Dog Doodah Band...

We haven't achieved any sort of commercial success at all. In fact, not a single monetary investment has had any sort of return.

We aren't locally popular. We have no following to speak of, and only a few fans. Mostly, we're unknown. And unheard.

I think that might change this year. We're all doing a lot of things that might make a difference. Having the CD come out, having a PR Kit available, having someone on the ground promoting us, courting the public more - all this has the goal of getting more people to hear us and see us play.

Increasing the number of people who have had the i am Fool experience - that is the goal. There is a certain critical mass to be reached, although the actual number is unknown, that will give us entree to the clubs we want to play. If you can guarantee just 80 people will come out when you play, any local club owner will give you a shot. What's more, you can play 'for the door' and get paid, and that opens up even more possibilities, one of which is to have a really big payday.

My goal for the band is to have it able to play whenever we want, to have reached the point where we can pick and choose our gigs. I want to play with the band for more hours than we are playing now. I want J. to get the recognition for his writing and performing which he deserves. I want to make a little side-cash for myself doing it.

Mostly, though, I just want to play.

Although to any outsider, my band isn't the Beatles, for me, they are. This is the best band, the best group, I have been in. I get real satisfaction making music with these people. For me, this is as good as it gets, and if none of the things I want for the band happen, I will still be proud of being i am Fool's bass player.
