I felt like there was a break in the action today - because all I had was a gig in the evening - no demands on my day time.

Which gave me some time to look deep into my investments.

That turned out to be a bad idea. It was the worst day of 2017 for my portfolio. I ended up spending much too much time on that.

Now, I'm not complaining. Since I rebooted here in Syracuse and started investing, the bull market and a little luck has given me great returns, and even after yesterday's hit, I have far, far exceeded my investment goals.

But suddenly, I looked at the time and had to scramble to get out and do some much-needed grocery shopping before getting ready to go to the (relatively early) gig.

The gig had some highs and lows, but I was happy that I earned my pay - even though, when broken down by the hour it was a minimum-wage gig. And I signed on for 3 more.

All good here. My focus is a few dozen hours in the future, on the show I'm putting on. Not the present, as enjoyable as it may seem.

That is foolishness. I am so blessed and grateful for what is actually happening to me. Silly to be anywhere else but now.
