Travel after work. Somehow, I didn't factor in the seasonal early arrival of darkness, and I am very tired after my hour-longer-than-I-figured drive to Westchester County. I'm getting old.
There was a time when I could set out on an all-night drive on a whim, and be none the worse for wear at the end of it. Of course, those drives were in the context of a life without schedules, a life without responsibilities.
My motivation for this drive is dinner at a new restaurant with good friends Jeanne and Gary.
It has been a long time since I've seen them - and they are dear, loved friends. I find them both in much better shape than the last time I saw them - two years ago? These are warm, vital creative people, and I love them dearly. My long weekend vacation is off to a wonderful start.

Diet Comment
Yesterday's midnight snack probably reduced the amount of weight loss a little, but other than that, seems to have had no effect.Today, I will be having two meals out. Going back to Ling-Ling for more of the same, after Al's last-minute cancellation, meeting friends for dinner, and probably eating out the rest of the weekend, as well. I will also not be weighing myself until next Tuesday, February 19th. This is the downside of the otherwise lovely weekend of visiting that I have planned.
If I weigh less than 209 pounds on Tuesday, I will consider it a victory and something of a miracle.

BreakfastSimple Cocoa-Kale shake (Almond milk, kale, cocoa, vanilla whey powder (24g protein), cinnamon, stevia-inulin blend).
Lunch
At Ling-Ling's Chinese Buffet and Grill:
Brussels sprouts, kimchee, and, from the "Mongolian Grill", my go-to dish, pork and chicken with bean sprouts, cabbage, onions, mushrooms, green peppers, snow pea pods and broccoli. |
Dinner
At Tagine in Croton-on-Hudson, NY:
Fish filet tagine (not shown: spicy carrot slaw and quinoa pilaf). Amazing! Delicious. |
Liquid Intake
Coffee: 44 oz, Water: 140+ oz.
