In the spirit of Valentine's Day, I become a hater. I hate Valentine's Day.
All the romance has seemed un-romantic to me. Just like all the other Hallmark holidays, making something special out of something that should be normally special - romantic love, maternal and paternal love - never seemed to me to do anything but put a strain on something that should be easy; or to excuse bad behavior, or, yes, to stoke the fires of commerce.
That's really all I'm going to say about it.

Diet Comment
I read yesterday that one of the most important things you can do to lose weight was eat earlier. Then I had a midnight snack. That is a pretty dramatic weight increase, considering I ate nothing off-plan all day. I got 'stood up' for lunch, ate alone, then got back to the office to find Valentine's Day being celebrated in the most diet-destroying ways.Although I had decided not to, I ended up eating a very late snack. That and the post-lunch fail will cost me tomorrow, right in front of a long weekend down in the City, where I will have a socially-limited range of food choices most of the time.

I have been a little sick with a cold. Also, preoccupied with my new tv which is not working and past the point of returning it. So I have to deal with Samsung. These are the worst things going on in my life, so I continue to feel quite good and lucky. Love you
