I haven't been sleeping well. After a few months of sleeping better than I have in decades, I have something that worries me enough to interfere with sleep: the coming move of my sister-in-law from Brooklyn to the other side of my garden apartment building here in Liverpool, NY.
There are a lot of variables I can't control, and I can't be as helpful as I want - there are things I can't do.
I don't feel guilty about that. I've done a lot, and I can honestly say I'm doing the best I can. But there is a scary-long hard-work day ahead, where I'm getting help from someone I'm not sure I can trust to help.

Saturday, I'll drive down with a couple of friends to pick up a U-haul van in Queens or New Jersey - at the time I'm writing this, I'm waiting to hear from U-haul where my truck will be (that's a worry right there). I'll proceed to Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn.
There we'll have to break down the bed and the stereo. Take those things, an exercise bike, a regular bike, Denie's clothes and papers and miscellaneous can't-leave-it-behind stuff, maybe some small appliances, out to the hall, down to the basement, into the van.
Then make the five-plus hour drive back to Liverpool, unload everything, and put the bed together.
That's a lot for one day, and, of course, there's a lot to be done leading up to that one day. But I can't help at all with that, and I fear Denie may not be up to it.
Then there's the landlord's lawsuit, not being dealt with, because the court date is in May. There's still no lawyer, and no plan to get Denie to court on the date.
So, I'm worried, although I know better. But this is one I can't let go of, the way I'm usually able to.
And it's costing me good sleep. My average sleep duration has dropped back to where it was (less than five hours a night) after I'd built it up in February and March to consistently more than seven.
I'm grateful for whatever lessons I learn from this whole thing, and still somewhat optimistic.

High-carb dinner last night, polished off with an entire 100 gram chocolate bar. Sure enough, I tested my blood sugar before weighing myself, and it was a bit high. So, no surprise on the weight gain, although I'm happy with the results I've been seeing this year.
