While I'm still feeling the blues, a bit, I'm feeling better and this was a good weekend.

Saturday, I played my first gig since November, 2019. I had to think about that. It is my longest time between gigs in more than twenty years.

It wasn't really a great gig - I consider the band I was playing with amateurish, but, as always when playing, it had its moments and it felt damn good. I was happy with my playing, and I believe the other musicians were, too.

Sunday's open mic was a triumph. I got to play a lot. And I got to play with some of my favorite jammers. And I thought I played well. Got a ton of immediate positive feedback.

I even took a solo! That doesn't happen often.

Playing the blues is a cure for the blues.

I'm grateful for still being able to get out and play, and for still finding joy in it.
