Yesterday, August 10, was a significant date and I didn't realize it until today.
That's what happens when you stop looking at Facebook regularly.
Yesterday was the fourth anniversary of putting on Reverend Ken's Summer of Love Festival.
I remember three things about it. The important one was that it was a project I saw through from beginning to end, and everybody (but me, I think) had a good time.
The second thing I remember is all the frustration of the event itself. Some people didn't fulfill my expectations (including one band member), even as some exceeded them, the weather wasn't good, and the turnout was both lower than expected and ended up not generating any money, making it a situation in which I took a minor personal loss.
The other thing I remember, with mostly good memories, was that it was the one-and-only performance of Reverend Ken's Jubilee Band, the only band I ever led. That band contained five members who were excellent, and one who let me down.
That's what happens when you reminisce. You emphasize the things that stood out, even if those things were the few negatives in an otherwise very positive experience, which that festival was.

Yesterday was also the first anniversary of my quintuple bypass.
I'm grateful for all the things I've experienced that contribute to my rich present.
