October 2

Post 965, Day 241 of 2013
- and 1005 days since I started this blog -

Daily Comment

A great gig tonight with Chad, then stopping in to an open mic, jamming with more great new musicians...

And they all want to be Facebook friends. And, I'm missing some things, the benefits of FB, so trying something different, and more consistent with the way I think things should change.

I'm going back on Facebook, minus the comments, minus the 'discussions' - I'm changing the way I deal with it.

Also, ruthlessly blocking anyone who posts anything I don't like.

Yesterday's Weight:     212.4 lbs
Day Net Loss/Gain:      - 1.4 lbs

Diet Comment
Three days in a row of reasonable losses, and counting. Unfortunately, finishing out the night with a late dinner that included off-plan fruit and cheese, dessert and, even later, a shot of Irish whiskey, probably puts a temporary halt to weight loss.

Cole slaw with black beans

Dinner
At Eskapes Lounge:
Salad with romaine, mandarin oranges, tomatoes, peppers, feta cheese and balsamic vinaigrette.

  1. Ken, i was just thinking (an act that Gurdjieff would call "wise-acreing) that awareness and time were the same agency of intelligence. What do you think?

    1. I think the limits of awareness create the illusion of space/time. We only have partial access to the within-you/without-you Universe - the one I believe is ALL awareness, the unified field that our awareness is a bounded part of. In the same way we cannot conceive of being all-aware, we cannot conceive of 'life' outside of space and time - which I maintain is an illusion to give consistency to our (self-imposed, but inaccessible) limited awareness of our environment.

I don't know what 'intelligence' you're referring to - spiritual intelligence does not recognize space/time the way intellectual/academic intelligence does. Both camps, however, seem to understand that the concept of space/time is not understood and may not be understandable. Thus, the invention of words like 'infinity' and 'forever' which are not intellectually definable (because they are indefinite).

  3. I am not that smart. I don't think awareness could exist outside of time. Some people do think that, I know. Seems to me time could exist outside of awareness and frequently does. Love you

    1. Joan, You are that smart. Both you and Ken have responded beautifully, exhibiting an understanding of the problem that i have presented for your consideration. i am now trying to digest your responses. i'll try and flesh out how i'm thinking of it, after metabolizing the whole meal, if i am able.
