Daily Comment
Since I'll do whatever the beautiful Dr. Smith, my cardiologist, asks, the day after our datevisit Monday I had blood drawn for a lipid panel.

The results came back - excellent. My dietary changes and new medications are working to give me a lipid profile better than any I've ever had. Ever.

Something to celebrate, I guess, except that I am of the opinion that high cholesterol is a symptom of inflammation, and lowering cholesterol in that situation should not be a health priority.

My cholesterol level has (previously to this latest report) had a composition problem, as opposed to my having too much cholesterol overall. The problem was that the "good" cholesterol (high-density lipids) was too low relative to the "bad."

Half the people - half - who die of heart disease in the US have 'normal' cholesterol levels.

I'm grateful for my good health care. I acknowledge my luck.
