Last week I sent a 24-hour readout from my LOOP recorder implant to my cardiologist. Today I had a follow-up visit with the beautiful Dr. Hana Smith. (It isn't just me - her nurse, Kelly, after taking my vital signs and finishing the medical interview, left the room, saying, "I'll get the beautiful doctor now.")

Not wearing her glasses, and in a floral print summer dress, she was, indeed, beautiful. I continue to crush on her.

The report couldn't have been better. The recording showed excellent heart function and rhythm. All post-surgery restrictions are lifted. The expensive anti-AFib medicine is discontinued.

No need to come back for six months (it'll be sooner, because in six months, if I'm feeling up to it, I'll be on my Winter trip/escape).

Speaking of my Winter trip, I have been cardiac cleared, and the office will write me a script for three months of the medications I'm still taking.

I may be imagining that Dr. Smith was flirting with me, but she was very interested in Cuenca, Ecuador, and I invited her to visit me while I was going to be there. She had no problem with me being at that elevation, either.

She also cleared me for the ortho surgeries I'm considering - knee replacements and possibly a hip replacement (remains to be seen). She said to just let her know and she would sign off on them.

Now I'm waiting on an orthopedic appointment instigated by my hip pain to start that process, and looking forward to some pain-free walking in my bionic dotage.

I'm grateful for my health.
