An X-ray I took today revealed arthritis, and indicated inflammation in my right hip.
Next step is to see an orthopedist.
I might go for the trifecta, and get both knees and my right hip replaced. If I can start the process in September, it will probably not interfere with my Winter travel plans. I believe the recovery time is four weeks for each operation.
We'll see. I have a new primary care provider, Dr. Gandy, and sometime around September she will be having a baby. It won't impact my treatment, but I've changed PCP's twice in the last year already.
So it goes.
Getting old means dealing with life's wear-and-tear. Nothing I'm dealing with medically is likely to cost me my life, or permanently change my lifestyle other than for the better. Temporary inconvenience.
I'm grateful for the wherewithal to endure and persevere through temporary setbacks. Also for my history of trying circumstances leading to unexpectedly good outcomes.
