TGIF.

Really. Except, for me, the 'G' part, but that's a quibble.

Most people look forward to the weekend as an opportunity to relax and recreate. To party. 

Not me.

I do my recreational stuff during the week, and it burns me out, so that by the time Friday rolls around, I'm looking forward to one main thing: Sleeping in on Saturday.

As much as I love to play, I don't look forward to weekend gigs, at least not the way I look forward to my weeknight outings, whether gig or jam. Because weekend gigs are long and last very late.

Doing a full show with i am Fool probably means being out until 4 AM. Not too horrible on a Saturday night-turned-Sunday morning, but devastating on a Friday night.

Tonight's Friday gig with Bradshaw Blues wasn't so bad - but I still didn't get home until 12:15 Saturday morning. And I started out tired, worn out from my typical sleep-deprived workweek.

The playing is always fun, but when the load-out is finished, I'm on running on fumes. 

And, these days, recovery takes so much longer. That's why I look forward to weekends of sleeping late, and lounging around, generally being as unproductive as I can get away with.

I get away with a lot, which is why the apartment is a terrible mess...

Brussels sprouts, kimchee, and, from the "Mongolian Grill", my go-to dish: pork and chicken with cabbage, onions, mushrooms, green peppers and broccoli. This is the same meal, and the same picture, as always. Not shown: A cinnamon Quest bar.

Dinner
Pepperoni with Swiss cheese and almonds. 

Liquid Intake
   Coffee:  8 oz.   Water: 76+ oz.
