No comments on the new blog site, so I don't know if I have an audience, if anybody made it over from the old site.
Not that talking to myself invalidates anything I say.
Which begs the question, who am I writing for, anyway?
The obvious answer is that I'm writing for myself. When I first started the blog, it was because I had read in a number of places that people who tracked their food had the most success losing weight. Remember, the original title of this blog was 'Reverend Ken's Weight Loss Blog.' It was a blog with a mission.
Mission accomplished. After a while, it seemed somewhat boring to keep on emphasizing food, which was of interest to only a few people, and had become not so interesting even to myself. So I scaled that part back. Then I found out I still wanted to "run my mouth," so to speak, and added a daily, not-food-related comment.
I did my comment, and still do my comments, like jazz. I'd start with an opening sentence, and then... just run with it. You know riff, improvise.
That worked for me. And, when I didn't have anything, that's what I said.
Along the way, it was therapeutic for me. Writing things down tends to clarify them, forcing you to consider your thoughts in a slightly different way. For a while, it attracted some interesting conversation.
But nothing is permanent. Ask the Buddha.
Some comments are going to be more mundane, because sometimes that's where my thoughts go. Similarly, some will be boring, some silly, some (this one?)maybe worse than that.
So it goes.
My working assumption is that this is just me talking to me.
You are invited to eavesdrop - a comment to let me know what you think about what you've read, or just that you stopped by, is appreciated, but, obviously, not required.
