January 12, 2013 - Cheat Day

Post 709, Day 12 of 2013.
It has been 743 days since I started this blog.

Daily Comment
It was gratifying to see some new feedback on my eulogy for Marlene Feingold from last week. Had to be read and acknowledged. Outside of that, I spent an unseasonably warm and precip-free day cruising for free-range eggs (and doing a lot of "window shopping") at the NY Regional Market; meeting Al for lunch at Village Burger (we both really like it); observing a recording session (J. laying down vocals for the tracks we cut last April) at my friend Frank's Wailing Trailer studio; reinstalling Parallels and Windows 7 on my MacBook (turns out the version of Win7 I'd been using was counterfeit, Microsoft got wise through automatic updating, and made it unpleasant to continue using the bad copy, which then took out the enabling program Parallels with it when I uninstalled it) (I know, much more than you wanted or needed to know, but I'm going Faulknerian with this paragraph); then played poker and pool at Al's - a very full and enjoyable day.

And I ate my way through it.

Very grateful.

Diet Comment
I've managed to drop a half-pound since last Saturday. Today's cheat was epic - I ate so much, from waking to sleeping. I expect (and will be proud of) a big weight gain when I assess the damage tomorrow.

Food Log
Breakfast
Donuts and coffee at Dunkin' Donuts. Then, I was given a free donut, I don't know why, by the store manager when I bought a coffee refill (that made three of those sugar-held-together-by-fat delights). I don't think I've had a coffee and donut breakfast since the '80s.

Lunch
At Village Burger, I had a 1/2-lb burger with Swiss cheese and mushrooms, with a side of Cajun fries.

Snack
A chocolate bar (one of those crappy ones you buy from a high schooler selling them to support their team). A couple of slices of pepperoni pizza. Then, before heading over to Al's for the poker game, I had a bowl of Ezekiel Golden Flax sprouted grain cereal with blueberries, almond milk, and stevia-inulin blend.

Dinner
At the poker game, I brought some Second Nature Wholesome Medley chocolate, nut, and dried fruit mix (which was a big hit), and also ate pepperoni, cheeses, crackers, celery and dip.

Liquid Intake
Coffee:  24 oz,  Water:  46+ oz.  Redbreast Irish Whiskey, ~4 oz.
