#2515, Thursday, October 1, '20: Toilet time

Daily Comment
What did I do today? I fixed my toilet. I played in an online poker tournament (and lost early - after winning last week's.

I am feeling capable. I am feeling well. The toilet problem was great for me - not too easy, thanks to ridiculously, needlessly complex instructions on one of the simplest parts of the toilet, the flush handle.

I actually started the repair Wednesday (after manually activating the flush from the tank all morning), but the replacement I got from Home 'Despot,' "Good for almost any toilet" didn't fit mine. They left out, "... with the flush handle on the front."

Mine is on the side of the tank. No dice.

So today, at the crack of Noon, I set forth to argue with Customer Service about giving me a refund or credit, when I had pretty much destroyed the shrink-wrap packaging. It was actually pretty easy. A fity-cents-more-expensive, more adjustable handle did the trick.

As opposed to the installation, which was made ridiculous by the terrible, translated-into-English by someone only passingly familiar with the language. Anyway, I finally got it installed and working. But I needed a shower by the time I was done.

I have a regular Thursday night poker game. Online, of course. All the players are either living in or relocated from Raleigh, North Carolina. Last week, I won the tournament. This week, after some excellent early play, I think that one or two of the players discerned my strategy, and I just started losing hands I'd been winning. 

I was the first person eliminated. I had the chance to buy back in, but just wasn't feeling it. I logged off, got out my phone, took a Spanish lesson, and went to bed.

I'm grateful to be able to take care of myself.

Diet Comment
Is this an aberration? We'll see. That's a huge change over a twenty-four hour time period, is all I know. Yesterday was a light day for eating.
