Have I mentioned my monitors? I have two, for a while.
I got the Fitbit Charge 4 a couple of days after I got out of the hospital. I wanted to monitor my pulse and, for the first time in my life, my sleep. It's been great for both, revealing that my sleep problems are anything but imaginary.
I love being able to check my pulse all the time. It's good information for me. I've been having episodes where I feel pins and needles in my shoulder. unlike my 'heart attack', these are anything but subtle. I was worried that it was due to episodes of A-fib (atrial fibrillation), but the Fitbit says no.

Which brings me to the other monitor, which I've been wearing since Saturday. It is an attached, always-on Electrocardiogram monitor, and broadcasts its readings to a lab in New Jersey.
I started using it by making a recording, which is sent automatically, and following up with a call. This is the base-line reading, taken when I was relaxed and feeling 'normal'. After that, if I feel any symptoms or have problems, I can make a recording, which will be reviewed (an immediate follow-up call to the recording is mandatory) for any signs of a problem, and, if needed treatment.
Yesterday, I did a recording during one of my pins-and-needles in the shoulder feelings. On my follow-up call, I was reassured there was no heart-related problem associated.
I'm grateful for the sense of relief that gives me, but more specifically, for the great medical care that I somehow have lucked into getting.
