Daily Comment

Today was as close as a day gets to a work day that I am likely to have in the near future.

I had portfolio work to do. Which means I was going to buy and sell some stocks in the course of the day.

And I got involved - and once I started, didn't take a break for more than five hours.

Now, it isn't high finance, and I'm not a trader, someone who could validly call this a job.

But I get these ideas, as I have for most of my adult life, and check them out and act on them (sometimes, unfortunately, not in that order).

And that has mostly worked out for me, even though my portfolio isn't even a large fraction of what it was when I was fifty. That's long gone, and then some. However, I'm much better off than I'd be if I hadn't obtained some investing savvy, even at its high (on paper) cost - I know (now) I didn't lose anything I'd ever actually had. But I digress.

Anyway, it is fun. It exercises my mind, my brain in ways that, at this point, lessons learned (long horizon), are working out for me now.

And then, band rehearsal. Fabulous end to my first post-retirement business day.
