Daily Comment

I think I may have to apologize for yesterday's Daily Comment, where I explained, at length and with more repetition than clarity, why I quit Bradshaw Blues.

Sorry. It was on my mind, and it remains on my mind, as I see it as a failure I'm still processing, to see what I can learned from it.

The antidote to my current discomfort over ending this chapter came tonight, at the open mic where I am house bassist.

There, everybody is happy to see me, and everybody is affirmative and positive. We're all there for the music, and the atmosphere is upbeat.

I get to play with strangers. I get to play with people I know who I normally don't get to play with. I am treated with respect, and that isn't special, it is what everybody expects.

It is easy, from load-in to load-out. Along the way, lots of smiles, lots of hugs.

It feels good. The cure for failure.
