Beginning next Sunday, I am hosting the open mic at The Night Drop, the heir of Rooters Bar/Valley Blues House. I put together a band for this purpose, Reverend Ken's Sunday Jam Band.
My great friend and rhythm section partner Bobby Brown anchors me on drums, long-time jam partner John Brown (aka, JB, no relation to Bobby) is on guitar, and Marc Casselle, another jam partner, whose host band I was in, is on sax and vocals.
Tonight we had a rehearsal at JB's Dungeon Studios. I did some recording there a few years back. It's comfortable.
It was a good time. These guys are all old pros. It was also pretty efficient.
I'm super-excited about it.
As always, I'm grateful for all the musicians I get to play with, and for the Syracuse music scene that has played such a big part in supporting me and my happiness.
