I got a message from a Facebook 'friend' I met in person about eight years ago, before he moved to Texas. He was asking if I might play bass with him at the Night Drop tonight.
He's a blues-picker and singer. He was very well-known in Syracuse and was one of the founders of the NY Blues Festival, held here annually.
Of course, I said yes.
It was at the Night Drop. It was the first time I'd ever played with him. We had no rehearsal. I live for these kind of challenges. It was a great time.
I'm grateful for all the wonderful opportunities that come my way.

Diet Comment
Given the late night big dinner I had, I'm not at all surprised by this weight gain, which may possibly continue tomorrow, as I went shopping at Syracuse's rather pathetic Trader Joe's, and bought a snack that turned out to be something of a carb- and salt-bomb (see Dinner).
