I have decided to end my trading account.
Although it started brilliantly, and I am pretty far ahead of my initial plan, it is taking too much of my attention, and of late has not been rewarding. So, I'm out.
Originally, it was supposed to provide me a small substitute income - with modest goals, it would enable me to make up for whatever cash income wasn't coming in when my music wasn't yielding any money. In the first few months (the end of last year), a few lucky trades provided outsized returns, well beyond my goal, and I was able to immediately use the profits for booking a couple of vacations to New Orleans and Los Angeles.
It was a trick of good timing, not skill or aptitude.
I began this year with only two losses out of my first sixteen trades - an eighty-eight percent win rate. Spectacular results. Out of the next sixty trades, though, I've had twenty six losses. My win rate dropped to fifty-five percent, and the majority of the losses were outsize. It doesn't feel good. And it takes up a good deal of time every weekday. Diminishing returns.
I'm out, with a huge return (more than thirty percent) for the first year, mostly based on the first four months of trading.
I have some trades still booked, but nothing that goes out past November, and they'll probably all be concluded in the next month, and I won't initiate any new trades beyond them. When these are done, I'll close the account and move the money to a less active account, and place it in dividend stocks like the rest of my portfolio.
I'm blessed with being in a position where I don't need the aggravation and stress. I can walk away. And I will, grateful for what I have.

Diet Comment
Best holiday weekend in a long time, and even though I wasn't completely on plan, I only strayed once. The loss may also have something to do (jury's still out) with my starting to daily use of a couple of Dr. Gundry products for healthy gut bacteria, with weight loss a side-effect, probably temporary until I'm adjusted.
