Daily Comment
Since my release from the Cardiac Care Unit Friday, less than four whole days after my quintuple bypass surgery, I am officially on the mend.

It will, barring new problems, get a little better every day.

I tend to over-react with concern when people I love get sick.

J and Melissa have a very comfortable setup for me. I'm being very well cared for.

There's a lot of pain, yet it is manageable, and less than what I was expecting.

The nurse visit that was supposed to happen today didn't. Tomorrow.

I'm grateful for the love and support shown be, well, everybody. I take nothing for granted.

Diet Comment
I gained weight immediately post-surgery, due to my body redistributing and holding on to my fluids, which is called compartment shift. As the surgical trauma fades, I have been losing weight all along. I still feel and look bloated, though.
