Daily Comment
What has happened to me since I've been home alone with this pandemic is something I am not happy with.
I am watching more TV every day than I ever have in my life, so far.
I am not someone who does that. Or rather, I wasn't someone who watched a lot of TV.
Until this May, I watched TV very sparingly. Never news. Never sports, rarely music (I don't like TV concerts or music videos, but sometimes biographies work). Escapist fiction - dramas, comedies. I like series, they pull me along episode by episode. Movies are a chore - I'm easily distracted these days, by computers or my phone.
What do I do these days? I study Spanish. I make my meals. I watch TV. I work on my investment portfolios. That's the every day stuff.
Some days I get to do music. Some days I get some good playing time with other musicians, July was good for that. Sometimes I play alone, but not that often.
Once or twice a week I go out shopping.
But TV is filling in all the gaps.
I don't feel all that good about it. It seems like something a depressed person does, watching all that TV. It's enjoyable in the moment, but unsatisfying, certainly unproductive.
I have the occasional nice, long conversation with friends, and that always leaves me happy.
Still, I'm grateful. Grateful for my good health. Grateful for my positive attitude (might be a little chicken-and-egg-thing, being grateful for a positive attitude).
