I ran around like a crazy man on Halloween. First, I had to run around getting some paperwork done due to the absence of test results showing up in my patient portal (although I was told everything was fine) - still, I needed the paperwork in order to claim an insurance award that covers my yearly prescription costs.
For the evening, I planned on making six stops. I made it to five, although I missed the people I wanted to see at one, and was disappointed by the performance at another.
I did get to play a bit, at the beginning, middle, and end of my night. Overall, I felt good about it. All of it.
My last stop I got to jam with a guy who's been trying to get together with me for a long time, yet I keep on not being available for him. Tonight, we played, and it was great.
I got a lot of love wherever I went, and that's always nice.
And along the way, I sold one of my basses! Right now, that means I have a comfortable financial cushion for the rest of the year. Comforting.
That ends this three-day celebration of a holiday I used to love a lot more when I was younger (as in, until Alex grew out of trick-or-treating, which means when I was twenty years younger).
And I am looking forward - I'm less than seven weeks away from my trip to LA, which begins my Winter travel season. I'm about a year out from moving out of the country. I get excited, and, yes, a little nervous when I contemplate that. But mostly, excited.
But ever-grateful for what life provides for me.
