  1. Do you think it is some familial thing that we don't leave the house? I frequently don't go out all weekend except when I work sat morning. I think I was at that concert, too. Finally, the falafel plate looks spectacular. Love you

    1. I definitely do not think lazing around the house on the weekend is any kind of 'familial thing'. First of all, doing it at all is something that started relatively recently, by sleeping in on my days off, and is unusual enough in my routine to be noted here. Secondly, most of the time, I don't stay in. I go out most nights, including weekday nights, I think it is a choice. Usually, I choose to go out unless there is something more compelling to keep me in. Lately, especially on the weekends, the compelling reason has been tiredness, lethargy and disinterest - which I only indulge on the weekends..

    3. Joan, In a very real sense it is familial. We three younger Kellermans each reacted to the same angry, fearfilled, confused and usually hostile feeling atmosphere, environment and family culture in our own way. I think Ken reacted by getting out of the house as often as he was able and staying out as long as he could. I reacted by retreating more into thought and fantasy. You found safety at home, in your room with the door closed or at school. Both places felt safe and secure enough from our mother (who never let you be when you were together) to allow you to be with your self and explore that amazing mind you were born with.

    4. Andy is completely right - somehow, you said 'familial' and I read 'genetic'. I'm better now... LOL
