Today was probably my worst day since I left the hospital.

I didn't get much sleep - about three-and-a-half hours, according to my Fitbit.

I woke up with some stiffness in my neck and back, and my left knee was bothering me (go figure). Later, I developed a low-grade headache.

It wasn't a feeling like being sick (although, these days, any unusual feeling has me questioning whether or not I'm sick) - more like a feeling of "am I getting sick?"

It was enough, early on, that I canceled what would have been my last day at cardiac rehab. The slightly unpleasant feelings lasted until I went to bed.

So it goes. I did not expect my recovery to be linear, and I did not think I would be immune from normal everyday ills that everyone is vulnerable to.

It's a good reminder of normalcy that includes the occasional unpleasantness.in strange times like these, and that I mustn't take anything for granted.

I'm grateful for all the progress I've made and continue making towards a full recovery.
