There's this sweet little club in Auburn, about twenty-five miles from Syracuse, called Moondog's Lounge.

It is run by a family and their friends. The manager/owner is a musician. The bar is regional: Wines are local, spirits from New York state (I had a New York Irish whiskey there that wasn't good, but the Bourbon is absolutely terrific). The food served is, in general, simple, with local ingredients.

The staff is great - they project an enthusiasm that really hits the mark with me: They appear to want to be there, want to make their customer's evening a success. After the first time that I played there, they knew my name, and always acted glad to see me.

Even better, it is one of the easiest gigs for a band to play. There's a stage with lights, drum, bass amp, PA, mics and Shane (or his father, when available) works the sound. All I have to do is bring my bass.

Tonight's I am Fool gig there was stellar. The band played well, the audience was enthusiastic, everything clicked! The band was totally charged up going in, and very happy coming out...

I dedicated a song to Emilie Zucker and her new bride (getting hitched in England as it was played, thanks to the time zone diff).

A friend of the band got a video of that on a phone. Here it is:
