#1470, Thursday, July 16: How the Daily Comment works

Post 1470, Day 197 of 2015
- 1,658 days since I started this blog -

Daily Comment

Any information contained in this blog may not be:
  1. Useful.
  2. Applicable to anybody else.
  3. Reflected in anybody else's experience.
  4. Subject to analysis.
  5. Objective.
  6. Totally factual.
Or it could be any of those things.

Any given Daily Comment reflects an expansion of a single thought I had when I began to write it that day. There is an element of randomness - I don't plan when I am going to write the DC or what I'm going to write about.

I think of it like jazz: It is riffing on a theme. As such, some themes lend themselves to replay, because the riff will be different, reflecting a new and different time and take on  a topic.

There are some themes I avoid here. They are the things that don't make polite conversation: Politics and religion, for instance. Also, drugs, which might actually fall under the heading of politics.

That being said, I don't really censor myself. Or post-edit much. It is pretty stream-of-consciousness. Post-editing is pretty much restricted to spelling and grammar check, and occasionally/rarely, clarification, when my riffing has missed or obscured a point.

To the best of my recollection, I have never directed a Daily Comment towards any one person.

But there are few rules.

PS: I'm taking tomorrow off. See you all with the  Monday, July 20 edition (which you will see Tuesday, the 21st).
