#1380, Tuesday, March 3: The antidote to disappointment

Post 1380, Day 62 of 2015

Daily Comment
A shitty day at work. Band bullshit - a canceled gig, angry people. Weather, already the worst Winter in Syracuse history, continues to suck.

For only the fourth time in over four years, I worked late.

Throughout the day, I've been taking those deep, cleansing breathes, releasing the bad energy that comes along with the opposition that comes from things not going the way you want. I have a specific releasing exercise I do.

I am so grateful for today's lessons. I am on the receiving end of so many gifts, not the least of which is the gift of breathe itself.

I have an amazing job. Until today, I'd worked late only three other times since I started this job in December 2010. Every other job that I've had, I would be happy if I'd only worked late three times in a month.

I love my bands. I am so lucky to be able to play with people I both like and respect. And I have learned so much playing with them, and always look forward to it. So many times in the past, I have not felt this way about the people I've played with.

And, while it is true that the bad weather has slowed me down, slowing down has given me an opportunity to do some things I haven't had time for, and even catch up on a little sleep.

Gratitude is the antidote to bad feelings.
