- 11 years and 147 days since I started this blog -
About three weeks ago, I woke up and, as I moved my right leg, felt stabbing pain in my inner hip.
I thought, from the location of the pain, it was a hernia, found by my Primary Care doctor during my annual physical three years ago.
Sent to a surgeon for consult, it was decided to wait and watch if it grew or became more 'active'.
Yesterday, I got the results from an ultrasound I took to check if the hernia was the source of the pain. It is not. Too bad, because that would have been easy to fix.

Ruling out the hernia as the cause of the pain means it is possibly arthritis. An x-ray will be done. This is a new place where I've felt arthritis, and the pain has been much more sharp than my knees or hands (the other places I have arthritis). It may, after all, turn out to be muscular, although I can't think of any trauma I experienced at the location of the pain.
Meanwhile, after intensifying for the first two weeks, in the last two days, I've experienced some lessening of the pain. We'll just see how things progress.
Maybe I'll replace the hip, along with both knees.
Meanwhile, I will be changing primary care doctors, as my current one, who I've known for less than a year, is moving away from Syracuse. Too bad, I liked him.
I'm grateful for the good care I'm getting, anyway, and for the pain being manageable.
